Center For Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Patient Review By Harold R

Los Angeles Center For Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery | LACOMS

The doctor and staff have excellent “bed side manner”. They were very good at helping me be comfortable and helping me feel that I was in good hands. At this point, I have had a double extraction in December of 2021 and an implant in March of 2022. All has went as prescribed and I am very satisfied.

Our Oral And Maxillofacial Surgeons

Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a branch of surgery specializing in treating and diagnosing injuries and diseases located in hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions. This form of surgery requires as much as 6 additional years of both hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training, after graduating from dental school. Our OMS surgeons are trained in both medicine and dentistry, so they can expertly treat many oral issues, such as impacted teeth and facial trauma, as well as different benign pathologies. This includes techniques that can help rebuild bone structure with as little surgical intervention as necessary, all while providing maximum patient comfort. Working alongside our Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Dr. James R. Eckstein, Dr. Brian K. Oleksy, Dr. Derek J. Havas and Dr. Justin R. Messina, is a team fully trained in assisting with IV sedation and outpatient general anesthesia. Of course, this all takes place in our modern, state-of-the-art facilities, where patients are monitored during and after all surgical procedures.

Dr. Pisano was very good at explaining everything he was doing, and was very friendly. I felt like I was in really good hands during the extraction and then the implant placement. The assistants were also very friendly. I highly recommend the Center for Oral Surgery and Dental Implants for anything that requires an oral surgeon.

Dental Implants In Fresno

Dental implants are a revolutionary solution for one or more missing teeth. They recreate the look, feel, and function of a natural tooth by fusing to the jaw bone and supporting a custom-made crown. A dental implant will remain in your mouth at all times, unlike removable bridges or partials that have to be taken out during eating and brushing. Dental implants can even support a fixed denture for long-term smile replacement through full-arch restoration. Once a dental implant is inserted into an empty tooth socket, the implant post fuses to the jaw bone. This provides the same stimulation as a natural tooth root, keeping the jaw bone strong and healthy over time. Tooth loss is often associated with jaw bone deterioration due to lack of stimulation. In fact, dental implants are the only tooth replacement solution that maintains the integrity of the jaw bone.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Noordhoek was very friendly and made me feel comfortable during my procedure, this really helped me not be nervous about having all four wisdom teeth removed. My doctor and her staff made sure that I was well informed on how to take care of my teeth after the removal, giving me both verbal and written instructions that I was able to take home. The meeting a couple of weeks before the actual procedure was also very helpful because it allowed to me know how the procedure would go and allowed me to prepare the necessary supplies for my recovery. I also liked that I was given options on how I wanted my procedure to be carried out. Lastly, I love that they let me keep the teeth that were removed and they put them in a secure bag.
